Susan Micari at her desk, with her catAs an educational therapist, I have many opportunities to work with students who live with a variety of learning challenges and disabilities, like ADHD and Dyslexia. However, not all challenges are defined by diagnosed disabilities. Some are related to family and social issues, or traumatic situations like illness, divorce and loss.

Whether it’s a diagnosed disability or a situational challenge, I find there is always an opportunity for learning. As I share some of the challenges faced by my students, it is my hope that you will find their experiences helpful to you and your family.

I have also included several videos focused on the timeless questions parents, students and adults have when it comes to dealing with learning challenges and disabilities.

Please note that while the stories are real, the identities of my students remain anonymous.
